THE GREENERY ACADEMY “Q&A Interview” w/ UndergroundHipHopBLOG.com (2103)

-Tell us a little about yourself. Where you are from? (Bio) How long have you been making Hip Hop?

We are an underground hip hop movement emerging from Sarasota Florida. We have been together as The Greenery Academy for a bit over 2 years. Our progress has been immense, and we are now looking to leap into the next level.

-What influences you in making Hip Hop?

Our greatest influence would have to hip hop itself and the divinity behind it. Often, hip hop gets mistaken for merely a music genre but in our eyes and in the eyes of many successful artists it is greater than that. It is a way of life, converting uprising messages into hip hop poetry is the greatest influence of all.

-Describe your music, and what separates you from other MCs?

TGA brings diversity to hip hop itself. Touching almost every aspect of it, The Academy separates itself from all of the unoriginal artists that are looking to make a come up in the industry. Third eye consciousness, the pineal, and the idea that we all possess inner godly features that the public fails to tap into is a great concept in our music. Our sound is different and much needed in today’s mindless music scene.

-Who have you collaborated with? Who would like to collab with in the near future?

We have collaborated with various artists from our area such as Lido, SlayerBear, Pauly Paul and others. However, as we rise in the hip hop food chain, future artists in which we would LOVE to collaborate with would have to include: Ab-Soul, Flatbush Zombies, and any member of the sensational Pro Era.

Your definition of “Underground Hip Hop”?

Underground hip hop can be classified as an umbrella term for independent artists that avoid the mainstream scene due to all of the restrictions that many labels put on music as far as content. Underground hip hop usually consists of positive, conscious, and anti-commercial music.

-Production wise, who are your influences? Who does your production, and who would you like to work with?

As far as producing influences, anyone out there who is producing unique and great sounds. We have our own set of producers and design makers, who we have collaborated with throughout the course of our career. The have blessed us with great consistent work and we look to get their name out there as well. List is goes as shown: Uncle Flex, Monarch beats, and Ghost Productions. These are all highly talented individuals providing us with their own unique style in which we can feed off of.

-Any current or future projects you are promoting?

You can be on the lookout for KingJester’s  first solo mixtape M.S.E(MindSoulEnergy) the release date is June 20th. Also be on the lookout for our collab tape, in which all members of the Academy come together, the release date will be announced soon on our Facebook page and Soundcloud. Tune in and Enjoy!
