Prometheus Brown aka Geo Quibuyen is a Cali-born, Hawaii-raised, Seattle-based rapper with a camera.  He attended the University of Washington, where he met Sabzi to form the acclaimed Seattle hip-hop duo Blue Scholars in 2002.

In 2010, he started the Rappers W/ Cameras vanity project (parties, photozines, blog) with Thig Nat of The Physics.

In 2011, he teamed with longtime collaborator Bambu to form the supergroup The Bar and officially joined the Beatrock Music roster.

All these collaborations are ongoing.

Geo has toured all over North America, being the first Filipino rapper to rap in front of many crowds who he asked “how many of you are seeing a Filipino dude rap for the very first time?” From 2007-2011, his photo was the first image listed in a google search for “Filipino Tattoo.”

Geo abandoned a struggling but budding writing career to pursue music, having written for UrbanEarth.com, URB Magazine, and being the Urban Music reviewer for the UW Daily. He resumed his dormant desire to write, launching Prometheusbrown.com as a film blog in 2008 and contributing to online publications such as Racialicious and IMDb.com. He has contributed op-ed pieces for Al-Jazeera and The Seattle Times, for which he wrote an editorial rap on gun violence that was nominated for a 2012 Online Journalism Award.

Currently, Geo is the Seattle Town Hall artist-in-residence and in Spring 2013 he will return to UW to complete his B.A.s in History and American Ethnic Studies.
