SPAGHETTI BLACC “Q&A Interview”

select player spaghetti-Tell us a little about yourself. Where you are from? How long have
you been making Hip Hop?
Spaghetti Blacc, Kingsbridge, BX born. In the game dropping independent releases 3 or 4 years deep, churning out projects under the Blacc Ski Weekend Industries umbrella, which I own.

-What influences you in making Hip Hop?

The way of discipline, being hella hungry, and glimpses into endless wrath. The driving forces of greater games manifest themselves in the rap game.

-Describe your music, and what separates you from other MCs?

My beats carry the knock of a comet steered by fatalistic rhymes that’ll force you into submitting to my empire. We’ve been about tidal waves. Meanwhile, all these cats claim not to be thirsty, but, REALLY, they afraid of getting wet. They play it safe like fragile products; they draped out in bubble wrap & styrofoam tryna look cute n shit. Psshh…Please. I don’t care how messy the situation, if there’s cash, it shall be extracted from the equation. It’s all business on mine.

-Who have you collaborated with? Who would like to collab with in the
near future?

I’ve only collaborated with some cats who I been down with, and they are on their hustle in various realms. I’m open to working with anyone, I’m just not down with paying for it and then putting out some whack shit.

Your definition of “Underground Hip Hop”?

That raw, buried shit that everyone was hoping you wouldn’t stumble across. At its best, Underground hop is a secret because its the zombie apocalypse, like Molly back in 2009.

-Production wise, who are your influences? Who does your production,
and who would you like to work with?

I was listening to Tommy Wright III, E-40 & Reek Daddy, when I made that last round of beats. I sit there and produce my own beats 99% of the time, but I’d be down to go to work on a DJ Insane produced track.

-Any current or future projects you are promoting?

“DO NOT CROSS…tha remixes” 100 minute Dubb Discc remixtape droppin on Blacc friday feat. appearances by Zenmaster Dead. That’ll be on my (spaghettiblacc.) bandcamp. If you enjoyed this album you should peep the GNATS track “Results” (featuring Spaghetti Blacc) here: https://godsonsafari.bandcamp.com/track/results You should also peep that Spaghetti Blacc VS. Zenmasterdead tape out now here: http://zenmasterdead.bandcamp.com/album/vol-09-terminal-voltage-hallucinatrix I tagged the term “vaporwave” so that the stuff will hopefully get more listens.
-Can you give us a brief description of the creative process of “Paper Jam 2k14”?
There I am in the dojo, you know, having just dropped some alchemy on the previous tape for Blacc Ski Weekend Industries, kicking back off the strength brew (AKA focus nectar, liquid coin, what have you), pondering about what I owe to the game and how to stay relevant and keep dropping out tapes every month on the automaticc, when I realized that there was a problem that concerned the efficiency and functionality of the rap game and its almighty Profits. So I decided to let all these other “players” in the rap game know there is certainly something they need to deal with at once. That’s why the album sounds like a nuclear plant meltdown. I didn’t give a fuck what the rappers in question thought about what I had to say – I don’t need them on my team and no one can salt my business growth anyway. I’m over here, trying to get up on a higher game, magnifying my yield, and the rap game was stuck in the discipline of favoring “song” over “sound.” I wouldn’t have a problem with this, rather I was trying to hear natural sounds of the rapidly expanding entity that exists in the visage of this real world. Eventually, this “sound” would envelop and digest all human “song” as well. So I had a tape that was built atop the grave of the rap game, and made from the bones of several other species of music worldwide. I wanted to be able to put on my headphones, walk around here, and experience random encounters, not just hear more verses and hooks.
