S.I.M (La Habra, CA) – Summer Of Sim (Pre Ep)

Much like other Hispanic American Male raised below the poverty line in a single parent home S.I.M had to deal with adversity at a very young age. His father was sentenced to life in prison when S.I.M was only 4 years old and that left S.I.M the man of his house at a very young age. Although his mother tried to do her best to provide her children shelter for bad influences. S.I.M could not escape the neighborhoods he lived in and the family members who gang banged.

S.I.M’s first love wasn’t music it was Football. But due to various knee injuries and a high school program that could care less about the of the field success of it’s non white student athletes those dreams quickly fizzled. Around this time S.I.M started to pick up the pen for the first time and started writing poetry. His poetry quickly turned to rhymes as S.I.M was influenced by many of Hip Hop’s greats during the Golden Era of the 90’s. The likes of Big Pun, 2 Pac, Notorious Big, Gang Starr, Scar Face, Tribe Called Quest, Big L, OutKast and DJ Quik just to name a few. S.I.M’s hunger for Hip Hop had him listening to anything he could get his hands on and had him writing on the daily. S.I.M keep his new discovered talent under raps until he was asked to be part of a compilation album showcasing local talent from his neighborhood.  Event though that project didn’t make S.I.M a household name it did light the fire that drives him today to take his place along Hip Hop’s Heavy Hitters.
