Spvce Kid (Queens, NY) – “Cool” prod. by Ibra-Heem

Spvce Kid is a 24 year old rapper originating from Queens, New York. He is a rapper who avoids the labeling of his music as either “mainstream” or “underground” and rather tends to think of his work as original. Original is up for interpretation however, and Spvce Kid himself will only describe the term as being “music that ultimately sparks change in the world today”. The 24-year-old rapper started his love for music at a very young age, for as long as he can remember actually. “I remember word playing with all of the songs that my mother used to listen to, and I remember how much she hated when I did my own little remixes”.

It wasn’t until the age of 12, however, that the rapper actually started writing his own songs. And then, it wasn’t until the age of 22, when he met “Sweden” while attending the Institute of Audio Research that he started his current project – COOL. While both Spvce Kid and Ibra-Heem (Sweden) were attending IAR to get their audio engineer certificates, they realized their shared love for hiphop and decided on collaborating on an EP together. Spvce kid is the one behind the rapping, and Ibra-Heem is behind the production.

COOL is an EP containing seven tracks, the first one released a month ago. The song is titled after the project and has already seen a lot of successes. In only a month; COOL has been repeatedly played on Hot97’s “Real late with Rosenberg”, featured in Hotnewhiphop.com as well as countless Swedish magazines, and has almost reached 7,000 plays on Soundcloud. The opportunities that they envision for their work is limitless. Spvce Kid and Ibra-Heem have plans on releasing the remaining six tracks from COOL before the end of 2014.
