Spits Da Dawn – Q&A Interview

ughh

Whats good Spits Tha Dawn….Can you please tell us a little about yourself. Where you are from? How long have you been making Hip Hop?

I’m Spits Da Dawn repping KINGPEN CITY, I’m from the Castle Hill section of the Bronx New York. I’ve held on to the talent for damn near my whole life, it’s not till these recents months that I have decided to create organized music and push it forward, so far, so good.

What influences you in making dope indie Hip Hop?

Life influences me, I like to be able to channel my own feelings and thoughts in ways that make it easy for others to relate. Of course I’m also influenced by all of the greats, but I studied them all to become confident enough to carve my own lane.

Describe your music, and what separates you from other MCs in your area?

I think the fact that I’m watching the game from all angles. I’m up and watching all aspects from battle rappers to CEOs from the hottest rappers to the rappers that are labeled wack thank have huge following and success. And from that I’m able to limit my own mistakes.

Who have you collaborated with? Who would you like to collab with in the near future?

The homie Chris Rivers sent me a fire verse without a question. The homie Cortez put some of his own business to the side to come thru the studio and create a real dope record too. We also have a few other bubbling artist that we got lined up to collaborate with, but I don’t wanna speak on it till it’s set in stone. Other than that it’s just been the usual suspects that I’ve been creating with forever. And I’m willing to work with anyone that is looking to create dope music, don’t wanna just do cuz of the names or anything like that.

Your definition of “Underground Hip Hop”?

I think the underground is what keeps the mainstream afloat. To be able to strive at the bottom would only make an artist stronger once they reach the top.

Production wise, who are your influences? Who does your production?

I’m yet to be able to lock down with one producer in particular, but I have done work with a few dope producers, 808 Supreme, SoulDiggaz, LnX Music, D3vo On Da Beat and a others.

Any current or future projects you are promoting?

Right now it’s all about Left For Dead:Still Alive really. I think it’s a solid body of work to stand on while tryna build my career.

Can you give us a brief description of the creative process of your recent video “Everything? Also/ how was the experience during the shoot and how well did you work with the video production team and director.

EVERYTHING is just that, everything. Just to have everyone come together to bring my vision to life. The director Money Mark was dope, we spoke for a few days about exactly what we wanted while on set, so once we got together it was real straightforward. I think my team executed the entire process flawlessly.
