Tell us a little about yourself. Where are you from? How long have you been making Hip Hop?
What up doe my name is DREZ McFLAN from the Westside of 7 mile Detroit, MI. I been spitting for bout 15 years writing and free styling with my fam. I start getting serious around bout 00-01 and it was on from there.
What influences you in making Hip Hop?
My Cousin Wolfie was a DJ an he had some turntables at my aunt crib where he played “Microphone Fiend” by Eric B. & Rakim, I lost my mind when I heard it and that’s when i new i wanted to do real hip-hop for a living.
Describe your music, and what separates you from other MCs?
I call my music street-hop because I put the two worlds together spitting that gangsta shit and street/get money shit on those hip-hop beats. It’s my own different sound. That’s what separates me from other MCs, my delivery, concepts, & my art of story telling.
Who have you collaborated with? Who would you like to collab with in the near future?
I just been keeping it in house right now (Gumbo Fam), but I will like to work wit E-40 in the near future.
Your definition of “Underground Hip Hop”?
My definition of underground hip-hop is having a major buzz in your city or outta town wit no deal.
Production wise, who are your influences? Who does your production? And who would you like to work with?
I like west coast hip-hop beats like alchemist, battle cat, dre.dre, beats by the pounds, just blaze, kayne west
Any current or future projects you are promoting?
Yes I am currently working on my album right na coming soon early 2015.
Can you give us a brief description of the creative process of your OVERNIGHT SENSATION Mixtape? Also/ tell us a little bit about the concept and idea behind your Album/Mixtape Cover Art.
I wrote the whole mixtape in 2 months. I matched up the rhymes with the beats I picked, made sure my hooks sounded the right way, then I got my art work together. The whole concept of #OVERNITESENSATION was from nothing to something, everybody can fill that famo!
