Album Review: KB Jones & The Kontraband – “Hot Soup! Vol. 2″
When it comes to a hand and glove fit KB Jones & The Kontraband truly represent that popular phrase. With their latest EP release titled “Hop Soup! Vol.2” they have been able to introduce a fresh new-wave sound for all the masses to enjoy. The essence and impact of a dope quality band and Hip Hop MC can be felt from a mile away. Honestly its music from the heart and soul that can move and motivate anybody though their heavy day. Full of consciousness and substance that can overwhelm any Hip Hop addict and seekers of super fresh and new music to fall in love with.
KB Jones is not afraid to think outside the box and be different compared to the overwhelming numbers of MC’s who depend on a beat being played over a CD player or thumb drive. In my opinion it takes some balls and RAW talent to impress a crowd when performing Hip Hop live with a band. Much respect to KB Jones for steeping up his game and moving forward with real music.
All the 5 songs on this EP are very enjoyable. But my favorites are “Journey Man” & “Getting Found”. We hope this collective continues to stick together for future projects. KB Jones is now on the Map and at the end of the day he is a top-notch Hip Hop MC. For anyone reading this please do yourself a favor and download the project ASAP…….@UGHHBLOG
