Q&A With Hip Hop Collective Tennessee Butchers

Tennessee Butchers - Episode I The Sound of Violence (Album)

How many fans do you guys have in the local community ans surrounding areas, also do you guys cater to adults or kids, maybe both lets say. Please detail exactly who you guys are targeting on a consistent basis.

We try not catering to anyone but ourselves, in the sense of making music that is unplugging the masses. The thing about the TN Butchers is that we gain and lose fans from speaking the truth, but really are focused on the loyal followers. As well as those who want to be awakened. Overall we have about 10,000 super fans currently.

Feel free to breakdown the creative process of your latest album ““Episode I: The Sound of Violence”.

Mainly, the process was to get the ears wet of new listeners of our label, Vi D.O. Entertainment by merging artists from other groups we had in the past.

Who are your Hip Hop influences for hard-core Hip Hop?

The list goes on, but essentially Three 6 Mafia, Gangsta Pat, Wu-Tang, NWA, Ganxsta Nip.

How many music videos do you guys have under your belt as Tennessee Butchers?

The thing about TN Butchers is, even when we are solo the Butchers are in the building. For the current album we have 4 videos, but only 2 have been released so far.

How often do you guys perform live and tour together?

At least 2-3 shows a month, never “toured” as the Butchers but that is about to change.

Where do guys see yourselves in 5yrs time?

If there is one thing this industry has taught us, it is that as long as you are willing to put fuel to the fire, you will always have a job to do. This is our hustle, music is our 40 hour work week and we have to treat it as such to get paid.

Here it is! Our most popular question! What is your definition of “underground hip hop”?

Underground hip hop is no chains/shackles from the big labels. Self sustainment, and a career death sentence to the unprepared. Music with substance, story, and some type of vision or lesson to be learned from it.
