In Memory of… MC Breed (June 12, 1971 – November 22, 2008)

8 years ago Michigan’s own MC Breed passed away in his sleep after kidney failure, age 37. Breed is an underrated force in Hip-Hop, becoming the first highly succesful rapper to be from the Midwest. He began his career collaborating with DFC (Da Funk Clan) in 1991 with their studio debut album, MC Breed & DFC. He would release a total of 13 studio albums from 1991 to 2004 and a total of 5 compilation albums from 1995 to 2007. Breed did many tracks with West Coast artist like Tupac, MC Eiht, Warren G and The D.O.C. while still remaining loyal to the sound of the Midwest. Breed is a rapper and MC who doesn’t get his proper respect so we say thank you for your timeless music, may you Rest In Peace.
