Gordon South, aka Trash Gordon, is an Irish Canadian horrorcore rapper whos energetic stage persona, mixed with his obscure sense of humor and aggressive lyrics set him aside from your common household bling eating, grandmother friendly rapper.
Growing up in a poor neighborhood in Scarborough with 2 lewd uncles, a vulgar father and a love for gory horror movies helped to set the stage, so to speak, for Trash to idolize and relate to the villainous and dark, twisted side of life.
From selling drugs in school so he could eat to seeing friends and family indulge in booze, crime, drugs and perversion Trash learned to channel these influences into his music while staying sober himself.
At the age of 12 Trash started getting into music and at 15 started writing raps and producing beats under the influence of artists like The Wu Tang, DMX, Black Sabbath, Sex Pistols, Alice Cooper, Johnny Cash, Swollen Members, Onyx and Necro.
Trash is a true Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde when it comes to his music. Bright, soft spoken and calm in person while audacious, wild and violently articulate onstage.
“Most rap music is boring and repetitive,” he says when asked about his own style and influences versus the current state of music. “I feel all art should be personal and original.”
His true identity and alter ego, both apart and together, give the audience the raw impression of how Trash uses music to keep his inner demons at bay, stabilizing his life and mind.
His debut album, Dumpster Diaries, was released in august 2011, going viral with over 10,000 downloads (Ituneshttp://itunes.apple.
He is currently in the process of recording his sophomore EP “Behind The Mask”, the first single being a tracked called “Fuck Love” featuring MadChild of Swollen Members.
