The Savior – Q&A Interview

The S.A.V.I.O.R.

Tell us a little about yourselves. Where are you from? How long have you been making Hip Hop?

Hi I’m Eric C. Goode and I love food. I’m a very huge fan of all things animated and a gamer by choice. I’m originally from a town in Mecklenburg County Virginia known as Clarksville, Southside VA to be exact. Chinsaku and I have only just begun its been about five months though. I love Chinsaku’s sound it resonates with the soul.

What influences you in making Hip Hop?

For me personally just the creativity of it all that and the radio….smh ( I miss the radio from my youth..it rarely gets turned on, so I make what I like to hear.) Also to be recognized by those who have a similar love and passion for music as we do and enjoy making it. I also just love music its universal.

Describe your music, and what separates you from other MCs?

My music is probably best described as a conflict between Soul/R&B and Hip-Hop. Its what I was raised on like many others, so the influence of soul and hip hop on and in my music is great even when I don’t want it to . My separations I would have to say my songwriting ability and being able to transition it smoothly without any hitches. Just glad I haven’t gotten the Drake comparisons lol dodging it as long as possible.

Who have you collaborated with? Who would you like to collab with in the near future?

I’ve worked w/ a few people and will hopefully work w/ many more.(They all have a soundcloud check ’em)

Mike Geezz, Vainsmith (nothing released as of yet), Micky Bizz all out of VA.

Shock Da World out of Hartford CT who is featured on the “MAY I” track

Ace Levy out of MD who is featured on the “Ridin” track

Iam DatjBoiRome  also out of MD. I’m featured on his single “Yeah She’s Hot” (disclaimer there’s auto-tune but at least hear my verse before you click any buttons lol) still a dope song.

Chinsaku from the westside (Cali) and his partner Lefty Loosey also from (Cali). I hope for another project with Chinsaku after the Lefty Loosey project, but also IAMNOBODI from Soulection…I like the way he uses synths in his music pretty dope I must say just need a couple tracks.

Your definition of “Underground Hip Hop”?

Underground Hip Hop to me is a place where you’re allowed to say and do what you want. Its a raw unrefined expression of many. It’s where even the ones (maybe myself included) who may never reach the masses, still have a voice and chance to display their skills. Its nothing like it. It’s where you learn to love the artist for just that the artistry.

Production wise, who are your influences?  And who would you like to work with?

I was influenced by many as most people should be and are. A few because it could be extremely long.

Pharrell, Timbaland, Pete Rock, RZA, Dr. Dre, David Banner, Stevie Wonder, Rick James, Dark Child, Kanye, Mannie Fresh, DJ Quik, Warren G, Just Blaze, J. Dilla, Elton John, Rick Ruben, Prince etc. like I said it can go on for a while.

Though I’d really like to work w/ Timbaland, RZA, Pharrell, Dre, Dark Child and David Banner…Banner

Any current or future projects you are promoting?

Other than “A MOONLIT KNIGHT” nothing yet for me personally until I let go of the project w/ Lefty Loosey which is done, but until i feel it sounds right It will not leave my possession.

Can you give us a brief description of the creative process of A Moonlit Knight? Also/ what was the idea or concept description about your Album Art Cover.

“A MOONLIT KNIGHT”  was originally to be a R&B album, but I didn’t feel secure enough to just drop a nonstop singing album we’ll see in the future. So I took it to the cloud for inspiration and found the homie Chinsaku. I wanted to generalize the pursuit of doing what I love and making a living from it as well as put out some pretty good music. I had lots of songs but it didn’t feel complete, so i sent some tracks to Chinsaku and he must have had a bit of faith in my ability cuz next thing you know he’s sending me a few beats. (I was hype won’t front) and from there it just felt like a great body of work. *Bows to Chinsaku.*

The idea behind the cover art was/is to have a comic go w/ it to kind of show a process of how these two came together on the cover. Should be pretty dope I’ve got a friend from college who is helping me put it all together now..being that we were art majors (we get no love). but should be finished by the fall. Cross Promotion baby!!

Shout out to Underground Hip Hop for giving us a listen we appreciate it. Chinsaku, The Krewsaders, and everyone who are and were willing to give us listen. I say it like this the way the radio is going you can’t go too wrong w/ listening to someone you’ve never heard you’ll either continue to listen and love it or move on and forget it can’t really beat that. Much love and respect

Good Health and Wealth.
