Henessee – Q&A Interview
-Tell us a little about yourself. Where are you from? How long have you been making Hip Hop?
I’m from Ypsilanti Michigan, born and raised. I originally started making music back in 2003.
-What influences you in making Hip Hop?
When I was a kid my older brother and cousins would just rhyme whenever they heard a nice beat. I remember just looking up at them with a smile thinking “man I wish I could do that”. So I guess that was my biggest influence.
-Describe your music, and what separates you from other MCs?
My music is that street, club banging, head nodding sound thag pulls your attention everytime you hear the beat or the lyrics. I put a lot of life into it in all sorts of ways. A lot of other MCs sound the same on every track but me, I switch styles like my boxers.
-Who have you collaborated with? Who would you like to collab with in the near future?
I’ve actually collaborated with quite a few artist. Lyfe, Filthy, Nitty, Tommy B and many others. In the future I hope to collab with artist like Kendrick Lamar, young jeezy, lil boosie, and t.i.
-Your definition of “Underground Hip Hop”?
My definition would be “real music.” It comes from the heart but too street for radio play.
-Production wise, who are your influences? Who does your production? And who would you like to work with?
My influences are a few independent artist like wiz khalifa, yo gotti, lil boosie, etc. But for the most part I’d have to say timberland and dr. dre. I do all of my production from beats to engineering I do it all.
-Who would you like to work with?
I would like to work with all types of artist no matter the genre. Sometimes you have to think outside the box. People wanna hear good music, some like hip hop some like pop and some like country so why not expand your talents in more than just one kind of music.
-Any current or future projects you are promoting?
I have yet to start promoting them but there are plenty of current and future projects to be on the look for.
-Can you give us a brief description of the creative process of The Henessee EP? Tell us a little bit about the concept and idea behind your Album/Mixtape Cover Art.
Well this cd is just a little taste of what im capable of. I put a little street music in the mix with a little club scene and real life experience. I can’t credit for album cover art my vice president is the artist behind that.
