SirJ-GasMask-01-2

Tell us a little about yourself. Where are you from? How long have you been making Hip Hop?

My name is Sir J born and raised in West Palm Beach, Florida. Been making Hip Hop since I was born lol I believe Hip Hop is a culture, more than just music. It’s all about being the true you.

What influences you in making Hip Hop?

My influences ranges. Ghostface Killah, Dead Prez, Dr. Dre, Common, Mos Def, Ludacris, Big K.R.I.T, Asap Ferg

Describe your music, and what separates you from other MCs?

I been playing the piano since I was 5. Went to a middle and high art school majoring in piano. I had to learn a lot of classical pieces which I feel helped me be a good producer and arranger. I made beats first around 12 years old and started rapping around 14. Coming from Florida I seen a lot of prejudice, discrimination, shootings, pretty much anything that was destructive to the minorities and/or lower class. I read a lot and watch a lot of documentaries and its just a lot of things people need to wake up on. My music is gonna make you vibe to it no matter what cause the beats will gravitate you, but as soon as you actually listen to the words..it will make you think.

Who have you collaborated with? Who would you like to collab with in the near future?

I collaborated with a lot of independent artists. Howard, N.T, Andre Gitt Brown, Will Brennan, Severe the Mc, Evolve,

Your definition of “Underground Hip Hop”?

Underground Hip Hop is where it all started and its nothing about materialistic shit.

Production wise, who are your influences? Who does your production?

My influences are Herbie Hancock, Timbaland, Kanye West, Dr. Dre. Drum’n Skillz, and Messyje. I’m a music producer and produced my album with the helps from my production team The LoudPack
And who would you like to work with? I would like to work with Ghostface Killah I will produce a classic for him, Chance The Rapper, Jay Z, OutKast, and Kanye West.

Any current or future projects you are promoting?

I have a project out now I released on Nov. 5 titled “S1R” Zimmerman official music video on youtube now
Gotta few music videos I’ll be drooping soon

Can you give us a brief description of the creative process of S1R? Also/ tell us a little bit about the concept and idea behind your Album Cover Art.

Creative process of S1R started Oct. 2013. I wanted to make this project very intense in a way. I didn’t care about how man bars to rap or rap/hook/rap/hook. I wanted to make actual music with no rules or barriers, all freedom of speech through words and the emotions the production brings. I have no boundaries, I don’t believe in “genres”..This is music..just as much before religion it was love. The Cover Art describes my life right now and symbolic to what the naked eye doesn’t see. Psalms 23 has always been read to me and I feel that I’m living through it everyday. With how the world is I feel like I’m walking through the valley shadow of death but now I can finally say I fear no evil. Quit my job back in Florida got a one way ticket to Cali and been riding the wave ever since. I’m on a mission right now, I don’t do it for the competition or the trend. I do it because thats what I’m here to do, spread knowledge in any shape or form.

Where can we find your music and info?
