Prophesor aka Samurai Purp – Q&A Interview

prophesor

-Tell us a little about yourself. Where are you from? How long have you been making Hip Hop?

My name is Nelson Ford, but outside of reality I go by Prophesor aka Samurai Purp, but lately I feel like the master of depression engulfed in a void. I was born in panama city, Panama raised in Homestead and Fort Myers, Florida. I’ve been creating and attempting to master this concept of music since 2009, before that it was all a game to me.

-What influences you in making Hip Hop?

My influences come from living life itself, my mistakes, my faults, my flaws, my ignorance, and anything that has put a smile on my face, besides that of course hearing music took me there without a doubt, The Pharcyde, Busta Rhymes, Wu-Tang Clan, Outkast, Goodie Mob, UGK, Three 6 Mafia, N.E.R.D, De La Soul, Labtekwon, A tribe called quest, Eminem, Mobb Deep, Little Brother, and many of my favorite anime shows which there are to many to name.

-Describe your music, and what separates you from other MCs?

My Music is an impressive combination of drug abuse, spiritual venture, violence, Love, and opression. If I lived it or feel it, I’ll say it. Not just my character, but Im a Ronin. That’s what seperates me.

-Who have you collaborated with? Who would you like to collab with in the near future?

I’ve collaborated with Future legends in the making like myself, theres Issac Simon,Seanzy (Producer) Frank Sizzle, Papo Capone, Johnny Cain, Will Kiel (kyle), Jesse Abstract (Producer), Lord Lorenzo (Producer), Kip (Producer), Yung Chaaca (Producer) and more that I’ve been lucky enough to meet in my life. I hope to collaborate with anybody who feels the same way about things as I do.

-Your definition of “Underground Hip Hop”?

The genre of those who don’t need the fame on the surface, Just the respect from from others of similar views and ideals, respect from those who are just as low as the next, the lifestyle of survival that requires massive sacrifices, the sacrifices that people NEVER hear about. the unseen world that needs to be realized and reckoned with.

-Production wise, who are your influences? Who does your production?  And who would you like to work with?

Sean Knight aka Seanzy, My brother since High School. Always doing what he can to the max to help me get to where I’m going. Unfortunately y’all will have to wait on the project to see what I mean, other producers are secondary in my eyes.

-Any current or future projects you are promoting?

Right now Just the current project which is no longer ” Prescription: The Overdose” but simply put ” The Overdose”. I want people to dwell in my mind and see exactly what has been created.

-Can you give us a brief description of the creative process of Prescription: The Overdose? Also/ tell us a little bit about the concept and idea behind your Album/Mixtape Cover Art.

The cover art is not available yet, the process of the tape requires breathe taking moments which luckly I have many, but I don’t wish to get into it too much, I gotta than my friends and family for those moments.

-Where can we find your music and info?

Find my current art at https://soundcloud.com/samuraipurp there is also my previous mixtape “Alpha Nostalgia” and it would be dope getting feedback off of that, cause then folks truly see the improvement. also the intro to “The Overdose” is available.

-Any shout outs?
