Q&A With Florida’s Very Own Rising Hip Hop Artist Wes Krave

Whats Up Wes Krave!  We really enjoyed your new single ““Look At Ya Self””, one of our main contributors BOOM even gave it an 8/10!! FIRE!!  How long have you been making music?  What area code(s) do you rep!? Do you remember the day you wrote your first official verse?

I’ve been writing lyrics since I was a teenager but as far as pursuing a career in music, 8 years.  Of course 850 Florida Panhandle, where I have resided for 21 years but my roots are from 757 VA which shows alot of influence in my music.

In Va it was really about freestyles so I wasn’t really writing anything, when i moved to Florida I used to be grounded a lot so that gave me time to write and actually put lyrics on paper. lol

What separates your from other Emcees locally?  How can you describe your sound!?

I’m more seasoned and polished with the work I release. As I said above being from VA gives me a different type of flow very different from the typical southern sound.  I try to be universal as possible while providing content thats going to provoke some type of emotion or motivation.

Lets face it, social media since 2015 has grown tremendously, especially IG!!! Tell us how is your IG grind is looking, and how have you been able to keep up with the high demand on social media?

My Instagram has been steadily growing, It is hard for me to keep up with having new content because I just dont like to post that much. I’m from an era where every move doesn’t need to be broadcasted so it has been an adjustment for me in regards to social media.

How do you go about going over the production you decide to record over??

It really depends on the mood im in. I really like to receive beats in packs. So initially whatever jumps out at me I keep, And i usually listen to the pack a few times.

Lets talk about the vicious new single!! Please breakdown the creative process of “Look At Ya Self”?

At that time I was really just in a state of self reflecting and with things I had going on with me personally I was just really asking myself the questions in the song. I feel like we all go through those times where we are self reflecting and questioning ourselves.

How long have you been planning on this release??

It was just a natural selection based off of the first two singles. It was a completely different sound so we felt it would definitely show my diversity. It also was the last single we are releasing on the Album we are dropping “By The Code” dropping this summer.

We are glad you are really pushing a single!! Seems like nowadays SINGLES are the way to go!! How do you feel about that??

Just really depends on what type of Artist you strive to be. Do you make single type music or music thats built for a more structured project. I feel like I am able to make either or.

How often do you perform live?? Any indie DIY tours in the works?

I haven’t performed live in a little bit. I Have done a few @ A3C weekend and down in Miami @ Live.  My team and I are really focusing on my internet presence but shows are coming.  We are actually in the works of building a tour schedule within the next few months. its all about focusing where I have already gained fans and growing those areas.

How do you guys feel about the whole MUMBLE RAP XAN & LEAN trend these kids nowadays are on!!!..LOL???

Ya man I don’t like it or promote it but also I’m not here to judge or condemn anyone on their music or how they choose to portray themselves.

Be honest, do you use some of that stuff??..LOL

Nah, its not my thing…LOL

What you got cooking next?
