CNC3PT – “Nothing Given”

CNC3PT

Born, Kyle Blake Means, on April 12th, 1993, in Indianapolis, IN. At the age of two his apartment was burned down and he moved to Mooresville, IN where he would reside for most of his life. Ever since he was a young kid he loved building stuff, making something out of nothing. He loved taking things apart and putting them back together. Also, another thing that was huge in his life was technology and music. Technology came very easy to him.

Fast-forward to his middle school years was when he started listening to hip-hop. A friend introduced him to Lil Wayne and Eminem and it was a wrap after that. Before hip-hop, he was listening to Alternative Rock the same genre as his favorite band, Linkin Park.

His freshman year of high school is where he acquired the nickname “Money Means”. It was a self given name for the site, Skype and it just stuck with him. So he ran with it. Making something out of nothing has always been a theme for NapTown native Money Means. Music was always a huge part of his life, but his freshman year of high school is where it took off. His English teacher gave him an assignment to write a Sonnet, which is a 14 lined poem that has to have 10 syllables in each with different rhyme schemes in each line. This came very natural to him as he was a creative writer. After he wrote the assigned Sonnet he started writing his Sonnets that eventually became regular poems to his own lyrics. He started out writing his own lyrics to commercial instrumentals then eventually writing his own original songs. His musical influences came from Eminem, Lil Wayne inspiring him to write and record his own records and pursue his passion.

A kid from from a small town in Indiana with a passion for music obsessed over lyrics and how music worked and how it all came together. Started as a hobby eventually turned to a passion that turned to his career of choice. He wrote his whole school career trying to find his style and flow while acquiring connects, beats, and knowledge. At the end of his junior year, two days after his birthday, his father passed away. This set his career music back a little as he had to finish school out and decide what he wanted to do with his life. He graduated from Mooresville High School in the Spring of 2012. He decided to go to IUPUI. After two years, he dropped out. He said, “it wasn’t for me”.  While at IUPUI he was working on a mixtape that was going to be “The Initiation”. He eventually changed the name of the project to “By Any Means”. Having no studio equipment and a lack of beats he took the beats that he had acquired and the money he had and took them to a local studio in Indy to record his first mixtape called “By Any Means”. His highlights on the tape are records like ‘I’m On It’, ‘For My Haters’ and ‘Slipped Away’. After the tape was released, he received a lot of feedeback from his local area and many people were impressed.

A year later, he was contemplating about giving up music and fell into a depression. Contemplating suicide, he was at his lowest point in life. To make it worse, he received the news that he was going to be evicted from his home at the top of the year. He decided to give up drugs and give up college to find himself in the music world. Also, he decided to change his name from “Money Means” to “Concept”. He said, “I needed a changed, I need to take this music seriously and I can’t do that with ‘Money Means’”. After the Spring semester, he dropped out of college. During this time, he was writing, and acquiring studio equipment so he could record on his own. That summer, he began recording songs for his new project that is set to release at the top of 2015.
