NTG – Q&A Interview

NTG

Thx for letting us be part of the Philly movement that Ntune Ent. is currently creating with all the new music you guys are putting out.  For all those who don’t know who you are, how did NTG’s existence come about?

Ntg is Natalie the great (no cocky). The name comes from the confidence we must have from within to chase any dream. Most dreamers such as myself have to prepare ourselves with the tools to handle to journey that comes along with traveling the road to excellence. It’s not easy and trust me you will have so many obstacles and pitfalls along the way but by empowering yourself you feel the drive to persevere through the toughest days. My journey into music began with my love of it I’m a fan as well as an artist. I wrote poetry as a child/teen and as I grew I found hip hop. When I heard it I knew that was my voice as well as the voice of many with the gift. Kudos to Tupac Shakur my all-time favorite for inspiring to take that leap into making music.

Being a lyrical female emcee, who are some of the female artist’s that have influenced your style?

Yes I was blessed to hear the greats in my opinion. The 90’s & 2000’s had the most lyrical females and males for that matter. My faves in no particular order are Queen Latifah, lil Kim, Foxy Brown, Eve, Lauryn Hill, Da Brat, Lady Of Rage, YoY o, Sa Roc, Missy Elliot, Shawnna, Mia X and Nicki Minaj.

Props on the mixtape, “The Artist” we did a review on.  We noticed a wide range of production on the project, who are some of the producers that you enjoyed working with?

There’s so many producers I love working with am and excited about the prospects of working with others in the future. A few I’ve worked with are Chevy boy, Tracy Kees, Mic Larry, Mazik Beats, Midnite Music, Slizzy and Stro Hustle.

36 song mixtape is extremely rare these days.  What made you put out that many songs on the project?

I write so much and record a lot with artist and producers all over the world lol to be honest I just love my music. When I put this cd together I was like “let’s hit em with all that good stuff” and that’s exactly what I did. I couldn’t stop adding tracks and in addition to that all the mixtapes I’ve dropped have 20 plus tracks.

Anything NTG projects in the works in the near future?

My album is on the way stay tuned. This album will be everywhere and contain the sound all my fans, friends and supporters have come to expect from my music “greatness”.   I want to continue working with the artist I’ve grown to respect and appreciate in addition to making new connections. Currently fans new and old can check out my sound cloud, reverbnation, websites, blogs etc. for new music and classic hits.

Who would you like to collab with?

I’m open to collaborating with like-minded persons that enjoy music and lyrics like me. Let’s do it.

As far as events, any future shows, or tours?

Myself and my partner in rhyme/husband (Yung Draw) continue you perform in Philadelphia and surrounding areas and look forward to taking this show on the road in the near future.

What you like doing on your off time beside music?

I enjoy spending time with hubby and I’m a big goof ball so I love comedy and making people laugh.

Our highlight question, what’s your meaning of “Underground Hip Hop”?

Hip Hop was born in the underground and still lives there in my opinion. It’s our duty to revere the origins of hip hop to learn and progress properly. Hip Hop is truly our art form, money came and changed the game but it’s really a way of life. The true essence of hip hop is the voice of the voiceless, our expression and it’s our duty to represent it well.  Cheers and salute to the pioneers.

Shout outs?

Salute to you guys for this awesome interview. Shouts to the love of my life my husband/ dope emcee Yung Draw and salute to all the fans, artist, producers I’ve worked with from coast to coast. Thank you all for believing in me and cheers to the future.
