Miko Suave – “Othello’s Revenge” (Mixtape Review)

DMV has spawned Grammy nominated stars like Wale, Goldlink, etc. With D.C. a prospect of the future of music, it’s artists like Miko Suave that is shining bright as the beacon search for next generation of hitmaker coming out of the nation’s capital ensues. Miko Suave seizes his opportunity with the release of his brand new mixtape, creatively entitled, ‘Othello’s Revenge’.

The mixtape caught attraction with Miko’s breakout track, “The Black Death”. An 18-track mixtape now capitalizes on that breakout hit. The mixtape title is inspired by the classic Shakespearian play with an ideal sequel had the star not died at the end of the original piece. Miko is eager to show the world that over looking him was there biggest mistake to-date.

Listen to Miko Suave’s New Mixtape, ‘Othello’s Revenge‘:

The DMV is best known for it’s each successful recording artist having his own unique signature sound to them. However, Miko’s stylish flow has been resembled by a lot of today’s trending recording artist that is discouraging for new found fans looking for a brand new sound to bandwagon. With the concept a darker appeal, creatively, Miko Suave manages to disconnect with the ideal theme with his trendy approach when he needs to be more of a trendsetter with this concept.

Disconnect aside, the production on the project is tailored made and keeps the attention of listeners from beginning to end. Production grounds Miko presence as the lyrics grow on you by the end of the mixtape. Miko Suave doesn’t make a grand impression on new found fans; however, he does make an impression that generates a second chance that is expected to follow immediately once the dust settles on the current effort.
