Run The Jewels – A Christmas Fucking Miracle
When I first started getting into underground hip-hop freshman year of high school, El-P and Killer Mike were two of the first artists I discovered that I immediately became fans of. El-P’s flow and style have remained pretty much unchanged for the past decade, but his lyrical game always seems slightly sharper every time he releases something new. Back in the day Killer Mike’s style was incredibly different compared to what you find on Run The Jewels, which I’ve listed in my top 10 favorite hip-hop albums of 2013. He boasts a substantial amount of trillness and intelligence few others artists can compete with. El-P’s manic beats always have a tinge of darkness, and on this album they’re more aggressive than ever.
