Ever since recording his first verse at the age of 15, Namek, born Joseph Huicochea of West Covina, CA has always had a passion for the art of rhyme. Influenced by artists such as The Last Emperor, DJ Quik, Slum Village, Guru, Battlecat, Kurupt & Abstract Rude versatility on the mic has become a natural attribute for him. From rocking backyard parties in 05’/06’ to performing in legit venues & collaborating with a few of his musical influences, the evolution of Namek has strongly shown.
Since becoming a member of the Chamber Records Krew in Nov 2007, Namek has managed to hold 5 projects under his belt. (“Dynamek Delivery” solo album 2009, “The Wait Is Over” w/ Eyedealr, Cawz & Frankie V [Concept Artists] 2009, “There & Back” w/ Arkyve 2011, “This Is A Nams World” solo album 2012 & “Transit” w/ Arkyve, AVI & Spok Beats 2012. He has also been featured on projects with artists such as The Poetik Prophets, Rime Fytahs, Dr. Zodiak, Kwoda, AVI, Sick Family Tree, The Novalist One, Sampai, Poetik Force, Milkman & of course the Chamber Records Team.
Learning from certain friends, who also happen to be some of the freshest producers out such as Frankie Valentine, Spok Beats, Jansport J, Bone Solyd, Mil & Rokem, Namek has found himself creating beats. With a few beats sold in 2012, he is continuing to make & sell beats in 2013 & is in the process of completing a full length, self-produced LP titled “Namifest Destiny” with features from Abstract Rude, Percee P, Chamber MC’s, Rebels To The Grain, Destruct, Beond (Acid Reign), Shames Worthy, Joaquin Daniels, Kzar (Rime Fytahs), Poetik Prophets, Fawksie 1, Kwoda, Inzom, Cleen, AVI, The Black Tongue Society, Yello Blac, Diligence, Weapons Of The Masses, Braiiinstorm, Milkman, Askem, MC.
