Artist Biography: Proficient’s Music is defined, as real Hip Hop or poetry in motion. His music and lyrics can be controversial, political, but it’s well thought out and thought provoking. The production is amazing and gives his music its unique sound.. He has been writing and engineering his own music since he was 15 years old in his hometown Far rockaway, New York City. He was raised by a single mother who was a musician herself in her early years in Cali, Colombia. Singing with artists such as Piper Pimienta, and most the Colombian allstars of her time. This played a major influence in his music career. He was exposed to Hip Hop at an early age by the sounds of the 90’s LL Cool J, Notorious BIG, Tupac, KRS One, Rakim, Big L and most of the Hip Hop greats of the 90’s era. He had found a hobbie that turned into a disorganized passion to an organized career that opened doors to many new experiences. Hip Hop has opened the doors for him to be a teaching artist’s and mentor working with youth in New York public schools and community centers since 2006 and helping them get through school through building confidence and discipline in the areas they had trouble in. Backed by excellent production by international producers that resemble J-Dilla, Pete Rock, and Dj Premier’s classic productions. Producers hail from different countries like the Czech Republic (Natural Beats), Puerta Plata, Dominican Republic (WAY), Canada (Abstrack),Germany (Xifedy), France (Lion L), and many countries where Hip Hop is well and living.
