“All Aces” (Album Review)

All Aces  includes Jus Pro, Regulus, Aces High and Pinpoint as the main members & best artists in the Baltimore area which includes El-Gant, KrazyfingazSonney RedzzManny PerezIronsoulDomingoPhukuall, Illmeasured and a verse from legendary emcee Joell Ortiz. The hard boom bap sound brings you the best of both worlds in aspect of lyrics and production. The depth in each song shows how they fine-tuned each sound and truly brought the best talent to match the temperature.

The Album starts out with “Avenues” featuring Krazyfingaz, Playboii & Regulus, the gritty B-more sound is cultivated inside a capsule, this 2017 release can be dropped within any era and appreciated for it’s rawness & lyricism.  “We pave the ways with different avenues, we got it locked down we hold these keys to open up the compound” this speaks volumes and sets the bar for new projects dropped out of this region.

The HIP-HOP scene in B-more continues to heat up as the next track “Too Bombatik” featuring Playboii, Jus Pro, Dichter & Regulus is for sure a lyrical onslaught, the hook itself hypes you for each verse and all 4 artists held their own with different cadences and personalities which makes it unique and expansive. “No Where” featuring El-Gant, Ironsoul, Illmeasured & Regulus starts with a soulful  HIP-HOP feel adding even more grit to the production. I can say the album begins intensely as the fire ignited here is felt by anyone who listens to it. This cut easily taps into the core and allows the listener to empathize and listen to the actual emotion in each artist.

“You Already know” featuring Sonney Redzz, Ironsoul, Manny Perez & Regulus creates a sound for the streets, listening to this I could feel the west-coast influence showing the versatility of the production. Turn up song with a HIP-HOP approach at the same time, balance is the attribute of the record. ” Right Now” Feat Domingo, Playboii, Jus Pro & Regulus, is another high energy song the crowd can tune into. Bouncy and lyrical makes  for a great combination musically, the horns amplify the clever wordplay of each verse.

“Why U Madd” featuring IronsoulPlayboiiSonney RedzzPhukuall & Regulus brings forth a sarcastic themed atmosphere that creates a space to appreciate the comedy of hatred, the irony of the situation is what contributes to the song as it never makes sense for the conscious mind for hatred to be accepted. “All Aces” as a collective comes out firing on all cylinders with the next track “Bang With Slang” Featuring IronsoulPlayboii, Sonney RedzzDichter, Regulus & the NY legend Joell Ortiz from the renowned Slaughter house group. The track starts with a fast rapid style and begins to paint a picture riding the guitar strings in harmony.”Green Day” featuring IronsoulJusPro, Phukuall & Regulus  is the last song on “All Aces” going out with a lyrical flare, the production reminds me of combat and the sample adds a dramatic touch.
