Point Blur is a norwegian rapper and producer who makes alternative hip-hop, inspired by various ambient and psychedelic genres. Looking for inspiration outside his own genre has resulted in the cultivation of a cold and nordic sound, that makes him stand out among his peers.
Starting out as a producer, Point Blur got over 10 years worth of experience behind him. He has always been writing and rapping, but did not release any solo material until 2013. He often found that rappers he would collaborate with were unable to realize the potential he saw in his music, often times due to an inability to think outside the box.
“Music is art. There are no rules to art, so that is my mindset while creating music. There are a lot of rappers who thinks that hiphop needs to follow a certain formula, not realizing that they are censoring their creativity.I just make whatever I feel like making, and if I think it sounds cool when I’m done, I’ll release it.”
Point Blur’s current focus is to create good songs, so you can expect a series of singles to drop every other month. There are definitely plans of making an album, though that is more of a a long term goal than it is an immediate plan of action.
