Josh Vietti "Exclusive Interview"
CBS Los Angeles has labeled hip hop/pop violinist, Josh Vietti, as one of 2012’s Best Breakout Artists. This accomplished violinist has appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, opened for R&B recording artist Ne-Yo and multi-Grammy-winners and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees Earth, Wind & Fire. Moreover, Vietti recently completed a nationwide 160-date college tour and is slated to perform for scores of additional institutions of higher learning when he hits the road again in the fall of 2013.
Vietti has performed at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, CA and just performed at the 2013 Stone Soul Music Festival in Richmond, VA. He was an opening act for B.o.B., French Montana, and American Idol winner & 8-time Grammy nominated R&B artist Fantasia. Vietti will also headline at the legendary Whisky A Go Go on June 13, 2013 on the Sunset Strip in Hollywood, CA.
Josh started playing the violin when he was four years old. At the age of seven, he received a violin scholarship with virtuoso Mischa Lefkowitz of the LA Philharmonic and studied with him for over ten years.
In 2006, he decided to make a career out of his passion for music and started street performing at local venues around Los Angeles. Through this humble ‘pay if you like it’ approach Josh has made the acquaintance of the entertainment elite and has sold nearly 50,000 demo CDs from the trunk of his car.
Josh has been interviewed and performed live on several radio stations across the country and abroad, such as the Rickey Smiley Show in Atlanta, Z100’s Elvis Duran Morning Show in New York City, Cleveland’s hip hop station Z107.9, Eminem’s SiriusXM channel Shade 45 with Sway In The Morning as well as Toronto’s classic rock station Q107 with radio host Kim Mitchell. Additionally, Josh recorded two pieces for HITS 1 on SiriusXM for Stanley T In The Morning.
Vietti has also performed at the Michael Jordan Celebrity Invitational at ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, HAZE Nightclub also in Las Vegas, headlined at the Microsoft World Partners Conference in Toronto and performed for Live Nation at the House of Blues 20th Anniversary on Sunset in West Hollywood. Josh was featured live on Los Angeles’s KTLA 5, CBS 2 & FOX 11 News on the blue carpet in conjunction with his performance at the House of Blues 20th Anniversary.
On March 7, 2013, Vietti performed on AXS.TV, a music channel owned jointly by Mark Cuban, CAA and Ryan Seacrest and backed by CBS. Vietti debuted his original song “Street Violin” and performed with guitarist Paul Freeman.
Josh has opened up for Jay-Z’s Roc Nation artist Bridget Kelly, New York hip-hop artist Fabolous, hip-hop act Travis Porter, singer/song writer Andy Grammer, country music singer Justin Moore and stand up comedian/actor Brandon T Jackson.
Vietti has also performed at Austin Fashion Week in 2011 and 2012, and recently performed at the Governor’s Mansion in Austin, TX for the Formula 1 US Grand Prix event that was held in Austin, sponsored by Circuit of The Americas.
He has also performed twice with the Los Angeles Ballet Academy and was featured in the 2010 NBA All-Star Game commercial narrated by Common. He was also featured on CBS 7, ABC and YNN Time Warner Cable in Watertown, New York for his performance at Jefferson Community College in
Watertown, New York in January of 2012.
