Q&A With Rising Seattle, WA Based Hip Hop Artist WranQ Ramone
Hey WranQ Ramone, we would like to thank you for your contribution to underground Hip Hop and keeping the culture alive! I really enjoyed your new mixtape “Reincarnated”! Please tell us what exact area code you represent? How long have you been making music?
The area code I represent is the 206 and I’ve been making music for about 5-6 years.
What influenced you to become a Hip Hop artist? What were the main factors that got you into, quote on quote, “Underground Hip Hop”?!
What influenced me the most to become a hip hop artist was the effect writing had on me. My whole life I would write my thoughts or feelings out whether it be through poetry or spoken word. I never knew how much words impacted people until I started writing music and bringing it to the people around me. Not having a hip hop artist in Seattle to look up to except “Macklemore” I think also sparked a flame in me, wanting to the show the world that Seattle Hip Hop is one of the most influential, people just gotta give it a chance.
How important is it for your to stay ORIGINAL? How would you describe your style?
Staying original to me is not so important as it is to others, I go into every verse, every song with no limit or boundary. I believe that with that kind of mentality is where you have songs coming out with content that shapes the new generations or turns the music to art. I would describe my style as very conscious and very lyrical. I like to
tell stories of real life because now a days in Hip Hop it seems we see to lose that element.
Tell us about the creative process for your new Album “Reincarnated”! Any interesting features on it?
The creative process for Reincarnated was a 2 year process. As I say in track #2 ” Success Itching business pre heated in the kitchen Mixtape been started for two years slowly coming to a finish” I’m really speaking on how we were cooking ideas, beats and a bunch of random songs over a two-year span until we actually got into forming
it into what it became. It was definitely a switch of consciousness for me and thats why I decided to called it Reincarnated, I truly felt I had died and became a new person throughout the time of recording it. Having all of GFG collective featured on it was the plan since the beginning but the feature that I think really came out unexpected was “Both Sides” featuring PAIGE out of Los Angels California. Nicholas Sounds and I sat down and wrote and produced the song in one day and knew that it was a hit from the minute it was constructed we just
needed a great female vocal to fulfill it. I knew PAIGE was the perfect one for it and she came through more than expected killing the vocal and helping push the song to what its become today.
In 2018, who will be on your personal music rotation playlist!? Any new artists you are listening to?
I’m very excited for 2018 hip hop as I think we’ll see a new mentality in the game. Definitely expecting to have Pusha T in my playlist as well as I heard NAS was maybe gonna drop a project that I know will take rotation in my playlist. But other than those I keep my ears open everyday to hear for new artists and records, I think a big new artist that ill catch onto this year is Dave B. Seeing all the work he put in 2017 I’m definitely rooting for him being a local.
Any new projects and videos you are working on? Planning on a tour anytime soon?
I’m going with a head full of steam into a new big project for 2018 but will not spoil it at this moment. All I can really say is you’ll definitely get an EP or maybe GFG collab project from me early on this year before summer but expect to see the big things toward end of the year. The “Both Sides” Music Video will drop at the end of
January/Beggining of February and then following that drop were looking to have the “PaperViews video out around April, May-ish. I will be having some big collab tracks coming out early in the year with some big names so watch out for those! No tour is planned right now but the minute its introduced Its happening no questions asked.

Your definition of “Underground Hip Hop”
My definition of Underground Hip Hop is Hip Hop that isn’t given anything. It’s the true grind and grit. Artists that are independent or even artists that do everything themselves without the funds or help from the mainstream.
