Knowledge The Pirate’s “First Among Equals” Video Illustrates His Luxury Lifestyle

There are not many emcees in the game as authentic as Knowledge The Pirate. His debut album “Flintlock” and his sophomore “Black Cesar” are both considered classics. So, the anticipation for his third official studio album “Hidden Treasure” is high, to say the least. While he dropped an EP in 2020 with Italian producer Cuns and regular collaborator E.l.e.m.n.t., it was just an hors d’oeuvre before the feast that is “Hidden Treasure.”

The lead single “First Among Equals” is the perfect intro to his new body of work. Pirate does the impossible by giving fans a track that is equal parts laidback and menacing. The production by E.l.e.m.n.t. is that rich textured soul he is known for. The video is directed by veteran lenseman Nimi Hendrix and the visuals illustrate how Pirate is just as “at home” in a penthouse as he is in the streets.
