Wu-Tang Album Purchased For $2 Million By Martin Shkreli, Most Hated Pharmaceutical CEO
Wu-Tang Clan’s sole copy of their latest album has finally been sold, reported by Bloomberg Business. Wu-Tang has reportedly sold “Once Upon A Time In Shaolin” to 32-year-old pharmaceutical CEO Martin Shkreli for $2 million. He did make headlines a few months back raising the price of AIDS medication Daraprim from $13.50 a pill to $750 a pill, becoming one of the most hated men in the world.
Shkreli admitted Wu-Tang’s management was hesitant about disclosing the purchase of the album after the news hit of his drug price fixed increase. Once RZA got word that the news, he released the following statement: “The sale of “Once Upon a Time in Shaolin” was agreed upon in May, well before Martin Skhreli’s [sic] business practices came to light. We decided to give a significant portion of the proceeds to charity.”
The album comes in a handcrafted silver box designed by the British-Moroccan artist Yahya.
