Ambition – Q&A Interview

_Ambish

Tell us a little about yourself. Where you are from? How long have you been making Hip Hop?

My Name is Akil Barker , born and raised in Brooklyn, New York . I’m No different than any other man living . I’m just passionate about what I love, and it just happened to be Music . I’ve been honestly doing Hip-Hop since the age of 10 . I started on a Tape deck and finally moved on to a real studio at the age of 13.

What influences you in making Hip Hop?

The People I sorround myself by , and fresh music . I like to sorround myself with lots of positivity . People with goals , that are honest and motivational . As far as fresh music goes, I just love how hip-hop is constantly changing . It keeps me alive and always gives me something new to listen to . The diversity sometimes makes me feel like I’m listening to a totally different Genre.

Describe your music, and what separates you from other MCs?

My Music is based mostly on Figure of speech . I’m a lyricist , and to me, bars are so important . Twist that in with multiple different flows that ,  a few life experiences & a positive mind?  And there You Go . My Positivity , along with consistent-inconsistency of flows , imagination , and probably my unpredictability is what really seperates me from other MC’s . I feel like using the same flow for too long in a verse is so boring . You need to keep fans guessing, while being lyrically entertaining at the same time .

Who have you collaborated with? Who would you like to collab with in the near future?

I’ve collaborated with a bunch of close friends like Rizzy Alberraci, Lynkz, and Sauce Vegas just to name a few . Although I’ve never done a song with anyone famous, or with a really good fanbase yet,  I really want to work with someone like Tory Lanez . He’s so underrated in my opinion .

Your definition of “Underground Hip Hop”?

My definition of Underground Hip-Hop is anyone who really grinds hard for doing music , that just hasn’t made it yet . I Hate on absolutely nobody who really is aspiring to make Music a career path because it’s hard . And there will be plenty of times where you wanna quit , but as long as you stay strong and keep pushing , you are the definition of underground hip-hop , regardless of anyone’s opinion.

Production wise, who are your influences? Who does your production?  And who would you like to work with?

Production wise , Johnny Juliano is really greatness to me ,you really can’t go wrong with almost any beat he makes . My Production is done sometimes by my bro Sauce_Vegas , my best work so far was produced by Jay Nasty when he collaborated with Superstar O , but I’m usually online looking for beats in many different places . I’d love to work Swiss Beats , or Jahlil Beats in the Future .

Any current or future projects you are promoting?

Definitely , My mixtape ” Uncommon ” Dropped on the 4th of January and is great . You can find it on my Soundcloud at

Money Video has already been shot && is in the middle of being produced . Coming VERY SOON.

Can you give us a brief description of the creative process of your single MONEY?
