Bobby Swagg (Washington, DC) – Q&A Interview

Bobby SwaggTell us a little about yourself. Where you are from? How long have you been making Hip Hop?

I go by the name Bobby Swagg, some call me B Swagg, or B Lee Swagger, i was born in Drama City, our Nation’s Capitol and i’ve been studying and working on my craft since i was 8 years old but i’ve officially began my journey into making Hip Hop in 2012.

What influences you in making Hip Hop?

Nas, Jay Z, Eminem, LL Cool J, Pac and Big, Bone Thugz N Harmony, and Jada Kiss are my top of list Hip Hop Artist, even though i enjoy the music and styles of countless of other Hip Hop artist of the old and new school.

Describe your music, and what separates you from other MCs?

My style is lyrical, but the delivery is smooth with a touch of brashness, i think that my versatility makes me unique in the sense that i can touch any type of beat, any type of song, and deliver that work without sacrificing any of the lyrical content or flow that makes Bobby Swagg wat he is.  At the heart of it tho, i rap real shit that ladies feel and the fellas know and aint ashamed to admit that is the real deal.

Who have you collaborated with? Who would you like to collab with in the near future?

As Far as Artist, G Tha Mastermind, Yung Cardoza, Fatz Da Big Fella, Priceless Da Roc, on the production side, the super talented  DBlack, platinum producer Dennis “Aganee” Jenkins, BuBu Tha Producer, and “Mr. This Is Why Im Hot” Tommy Gunz just to name a few of my previous collabs. In the future, im looking forward to working with Ludacris, Eminem, Nas and Hov, Big Krit, Trey Songz, Chris Breezy, Ron Isley and Outkast

Your definition of “Underground Hip Hop”?

Underground Hip Hop to me is the proving ground for Hip Hop Artist whom are destined to share hip hop with the world, its like the DMV of our culture, its where u get licensed and registered, and that certificate of approval to hit the grand stage, and ive seen a many of artist who skipped the underground stage who didnt last and aint getting the stamp of approval they think they should, cause if they had been underground we woulda told em they aint ready yet.

Production wise, who are your influences? Who does your production?  And who would you like to work with?

9th Wonder, Dre, Pharrell, Kanye West, DBlack, Dennis “Aganee” Jenkins, Big Krit, and Timberland, thats who i admire and who influence me, and the ones i haven’t been blessed enough to work with yet, i cant wait to go in on something epic sith them in the future.

Well Shout out to the combination of Chop N Shoot Films and International AWOL for making this happen, the song was just me having fun, simply making the statement, “Look, Im Cold as fuck on this microphone” lol and the video reflects the Sporadic pace of the song, while dark and a bit grimy yet keepin it sexy and fun still
