Borvoe McMidnite – Q&A Interview
Tell us a little about yourself. Where are you from? How long have you been making Hip Hop?
My full name is “The MC of the Night” Borvoe McMidnite. San Francisco, California is where I’m from. My first full public release was in 2012, but I have been writing lyrics since 2006.
What influences you in making Hip Hop?
Everything you could think of and not think of influences my process of making Hip Hop music; the day, the night, the sun and moon. It is a very large amount things that influence me constantly. Music is constant for me.
Describe your music, and what separates you from other MCs?
The music I create is powerful and respectable. Once someone catches on to the puzzles or mysteries my lyrics hold, that someones daily thoughts could change rapidly. My music offers alternate ways of thinking and more. The separation is simply because I am The MC of the Night.
Who have you collaborated with? Who would you like to collab with in the near future?
I don’t have any major collaborations to date. Majority of my collaborations are with producers from various places on Earth, with me rapping to their beats and whatnot.”
Your definition of “Underground Hip Hop”?
Underground Hip Hop is simply the root and foundation of Hip Hop. PERIOD
Production wise, who are your influences? Who does your production? And who would you like to work with?
I grew up listening to not only Hip Hop, but also R&B/Soul, Classical, and Jazz. With those sounds around me, production for my music has to have a melodic groove to it at all times. Most of my production comes from my in-house producers “The Almighty NRP.
Any current or future projects you are promoting?
The current project I’m promoting is the re-release of the EP Mr. 3° Burns Cubed set for December 2014.
Can you give us a brief description of the creative process of your Mixtape releasing in Dec 2014? Also/ tell us a little bit about the concept and idea behind you Mixtape Cover Art.
The title of this EP is Mr. 3° Burns Cubed, the conclusion of a three-part series. The word “Cubed” is the mathematical expression used as an exponent to the third power. Meaning, this is Mr. 3° Burns to the third power. Being that M3BC is the third release of the series, it represents comprehension of what the first and second Mr. 3° Burns have created. The cover art was originally created by the comic book artist Rocbottom Davis. The concept of the artwork represented temptation, fire, and the numeric expression of 3.
