MeTRe B. – Q&A Interview

MeTRe B

Tell us a little about yourself. Where you are from? How long have you been making Hip Hop?

I’m from Silver Spring, MD. I’m 20 years old, I’ve been rapping for 3 years now and when I started I wasn’t thinking about making a career out of it.

What influences you in making Hip Hop?

The challenge of creating something people won’t get tired of hearing. That drives me to make something that’ll have an impact in Hip Hop music long after I’m gone.

Describe your music, and what separates you from other MCs?

My music is an expression of how I’m feeling. I think what separates me from other MC’s is that I don’t try to imitate other MC’s or what’s trending. I just keep my focus bringing something new to the table every track. I’m always thinking about how I can leave my own mark in Hip Hop.

Who have you collaborated with? Who would you like to collab with in the near future?

No big name artist, only a few friends of mine. I’ve got too much love for my area so I support any and everything coming from the DMV. Working with Wale, Logic, or King Los would be a memorable experience.

Your definition of “Underground Hip Hop”?

“Underground Hip Hop” is all about lyrics and flow in my opinion.

Production wise, who are your influences?  Who does your production?  And who would you like to work with?

Dr. Dre and Kanye West are big influences. Although they take forever to release projects, it’s always worth the wait because they make sure everything is on point. I take as much time as I need to make sure my records comes out the way I designed them. I write the music, record my vocals, and I’m behind the mixing. Like I said before guys like Wale, Logic, or King Los would be cool to work with because we’re all from the same state.

Any current or future projects you are promoting?

I’ve got a video coming out some time in the middle of September for a song I haven’t released yet. Other than that I’ve been in the studio perfecting my craft.

Can you give us a brief description of the creative process of Heisman MIXTAPE? Also/ what was the idea or concept description about your Album Art Cover.

Heisman stemmed from the love I have for football. It was a concept I should have really expanded on but I look at it as a learning experience for my future projects. I wanted the artwork to be simple, nothing flashy but at the same time I wanted it to look official and catch your attention.

Where can we find your music and info?

soundcloud.com/metre1100 and reverberation.com/metre1100 is where you can download all my music for free and stay updated with the music I release.

Any shout outs?
