Mista Min – Q&A Interview
Tell us a little about yourself. Where are you from? How long have you been making Hip Hop?
I’m from Austin, Texas, but live in Munich, Germany and have been making music for over 15 years.
What influences you in making Hip Hop?
Good question… That’s kind of hard to answer since it’s everything. Hip hop is the way I express what I see around me. It’s a way to get rid of all my pain and frustration and anger at the world and also a way to express my love for life and others around me.
Describe your music, and what separates you from other MCs?
I share my experiences and that’s what makes me unique. Nobody has lived my life except myself so I can share my story… Nobody has my story, if they did it would be their story not mine. I’m also pretty freaking dope…. 🙂
Who have you collaborated with? Who would you like to collab with in the near future?
Dirt from Shadow of the Locust, Manchild from Mars ill, concept7, SaulPaul, Primatune, DJ Lucid, and Blockboy… I’d like to work with Snow Tha Product, Slug from Atmosphere and just about any musician that has a great idea and is skilled at what they do. 🙂
Your definition of “Underground Hip Hop”?
I guess, me. I am underground, but also many others… People, that want to shake the trends and create new fresh music, they are what makes underground the underground.
Production wise, who are your influences? Who does your production?
I’d probably say, 9th Wonder has had the greatest influence on my music the past few years, but I of course gotta say that Primo and Pete Rock, before I got to know 9th’s sound.

9th Wonder and David Banner 🙂
Any current or future projects you are promoting?
Currently pushing my EP, “Nineteeneightfive” and working on my first full length album that I hope to release at the end of this year.
Can you give us a brief description of the creative process of your EP “Nineteeneightyfive”? Also/ tell us a little bit about the concept and idea behind your Album/Mixtape Cover Art.
I can’t describe the creative process because for me being creative is like breathing, it’s something that I automatically do… I can’t help it. It’s fire shut up in my bones, it just comes out because it has too, without music my life wouldn’t be the same… I love being an artist and a creative person and pray that everybody find their inner creative, that way they might be able to love themselves more. Music helps me love me for who I am.
The album art was done by my girlfriend, I told her it needed to represent me and my feelings and so she made it all about me, by just putting my name on the cover and then my photo on the back side at front of a barbershop in Austin while visiting home from Germany.
