Tell us a little about yourself. Where you are from? How long have you been making Hip Hop?
My Name is Ron Johnson , I go by the Rapper Alias PHILASIFER and I have been writing , producing and composing since I was 11 Years Old. (Now 31)
What influences you in making Hip Hop?
What influences me to make Hiphop are the classics, the new school , the people in which i perform for. The Artists and the fans of Hiphop who have been without a voice in popular music because they have been shut out of the mainstream consciousness. 3-Describe your music, and what separates you from other MCs?
Who have you collaborated with? Who would you like to collab with in the near future?
I have Collaborated with : Well Known Hiphop Artist Prince Po (Organized Konfusion) , California Bay Area Artists like Nos Leratz , MC Persia , Dem One , LIFE (6 Of 7 ) , Sway D , Alien Logik? , Nez Arizona Cats Like Habeas Corpus , SAVANT Of Rarebreed , Ephu , Mc Truth (Real Talk ) , Ezra Letra , Royalty . And Southern Cali Cats like Opoetik , Touch Of Cas , Acethetic , Jasun Olufemi Lasana , Existence 76 , Frankie Fadeless , And Evolve One. I’m Also working with The Production Team Modern Future on a Dope Ep right now.
Your definition of “Underground Hip Hop”?
I think of Underground Hiphop as The original , essential preserved style of the culture , with an emphasis on Authenticity , and Lyrical Creativity.
Production wise, who are your influences? Who does your production?
And who would you like to work with? I’d like to work with anyone who provides a sound that rings true to me, but the guys that really make beats I wanna rap to are : Dilla , Qtip , OhNo , 9th Wonder , and Crysis ,
Any current or future projects you are promoting?
I’m Currently Promoting My 2 New Albums “Borrowed Time ” , and ” Just To Say I Did it ” as well as this Modern Future Ep I am working on called 16:9 (Cinematic Bars)
Can you give us a brief description of the creative process of Borrowed Time? Also/ what was the idea or concept description about your Album Art Cover.
Borrowed Time is meant to be the first album in a trilogy . the next one will be called Comma , followed by The Well Spent Album creating the title ” Borrowed Time , Well Spent” the concept for the album cover has to do with my age and the focus that the Hiphop culture puts on it. By the time my career is done , I want to feel like my work was not done in vain. That I was able to reach people with my music.
