Q&A With Detroit’s Very Own LOGIC LDOT

Congratulations on your latest Album release “MGM Grand Detroit 10”. We checked it out and we really enjoyed the fresh new sound & perspective on new Hip Hop coming out of Detroit. What motivated you to create this style of music. And how did you come up with your MC name LOGIC LDOT?

I was motivated to create this project because I wanted to press my creativity and do something original and different that was not being created alot of artist. I have found when I do something unique It always grabs the attention of the Listener. Originally I went by the name L.O.G.I.C (Live on God is Coming), LDOT has always been a handle for my name in shortening LOGIC. Originally when renewing my name we found that the White LOGIC claimed he was using the name at the age of 11. The USPTO then asked if I wanted to dispute it, but we realized this process would be a lengthy and expensive process vs Def Jam. Since both names were synonymous with me as an artist thats why we moved forward with combining the names.

How is the underground sound out in Detroit right now?

Could you tell us the inspiration behind the project and artwork?

The artwork is an actual painting that I created at an event in which the gallery offered to keep my painting for sell. At that moment I knew I had to make good use of it and keep it.
