Hey Miko Suave! We appreciate and love your new creative Hip Hop sound, especially you being from DC!!. Please tell us how many years have you been making music? What area code do you rep over there!

What’s good I appreciate that! that’s all im tryna do is provide that real hip hop and keep it alive for this generation !

The toughest thing is to be a lyricist from DC!! but that won’t stop me from repping Northeast DC,that’s til I die..I’m tryna show the world DC got a gem! Miko Suave!

We just known for Go-Go and I didn’t grow up listening to it so I was always different from the start

I’ve been making music since i 16 years old (25 now) right when grandmother passed. So I’ve been perfecting my craft ever since. I’m glad I didn’t blow up when I was 19 because i just would have been only a “Punchline Rapper” now I’m a ARTIST..& a punchline rapper lol

The love for writing music came late for me (16 years old) but I know it sounds very cliché but I was born to do this! I’m a very anti social type of guy so this is how express myself through music,art (tattoos)

We are completely anti MUMBLE-RAP Xan/Drug Rap etc over here at the BLOG!!!  Give us your opinion on this type of Hip Hop!! Are you a fan, or can you pass on this? How did the industry end us getting this way!  

I’m beyond anti-mumble drug user rap! It teaches the kids NOTHING but failure,being a loser & a FOLLOWER! This generation is nothing but followers because whatever is working at the time the next rapper copy that style and be an overnight success,it sucks because the radio play & over saturate the wack rap & the kids hear it & it just teaches them you don’t have to work hard on your God-given talent to be successful, but for me I learned not to trip over it so much because those artist won’t last long,it’s a phase,only the GREATS will be in the books! you’ll never influence the world positively by being like it!

How can you describe your sound in the most ORIGINAL way possible?!

I will describe my sound as what new school HIP HOP supposed to sound like! the evolution of hip hop and poetry and putting good energy and a good message out into this world! Helping people with your words instead of poisoning them

Tell us about your Hip Hop and/or music influences? Any DC emcee influences?

My influences are G-Unit,Banks,50,Slim Shady!! Pac,Nas & Jay-z,Big L,Rakim & Big Daddy kane..I can’t forget Ice cube!! I feel like im the pot of gumbo mixed with all of great rap musicians before me!

We notice you have some solid Tattoo work!! Is it just us, or is it that every rapper nowadays have FACE tats..LOL.  “Just get some face tats and you will BLOW UP…LOL  how do you feel about that stereotype. 

Appreciate that! Nowadays it is like you must have colorful dreads,tatted face,mumble & drink lean to get attention! I think about every move I make I can never tat my face! lol like I said music and tatts is how I express myself

Please breakdown the creative process of your new mixtape “Othello’s Revenge“.

The creative process of this tape all plays out parts of my life! My frustration.

My first tape is called G.E.M.$. (Green Eyed Monster$) so it’s part 2 of that.

If anybody is familiar with Shakespeare they know the Othello story..dealing with envy,lies and betrayal and my life contains all of those things to the maximum,so I just put creativity on top of the pain and things I deal with

Rappers nowadays think by throwing up a few videos up on social media and pushing quick projects, they can blow up overnight! Give us your view on how over saturated the market is right now with so many MC’s/Producers but not to many quality music.

That’s the big problem..the over saturation of wack music so it’s hard for guys with actual great talent to be found..it’s being a needle in a haystack,i feel im the diamond dirt in the dirt that ain’t been found..as 50 say on Many Men.

As far as blowing up overnight I never expected that cause I knew the great ones have to put that work in,it’s all about passion and dedication & never giving up even if you the only one believe in yourself which is the type of time im on!

If it came down to 1 ALBUM only, what underground Hip Hop album would you consider THE BEST OF ALL TIME!!!???……One 1 album you can choose.

My definition of underground hip hop is REAL HIP HOP! Rugged,the truth..it’s where the real spittas at,it’s where you ain’t gotta dumb it down and can say what you want!
