Q&A With Underground Hip Hop Artist Carl Flystone
Hey Carl Flystone, much respect to you for contribution to underground Hip Hop and being a hard working up and comer! We really enjoyed your new mixtape “Studio 7B”! Please tell us what exact part of Idaho you from? How long have you been making music?
I come from Sandpoint, Idaho, a small town close to the Canadian border. I started writing music winter of 2012 while I was still in high school. This Mixtape is a combination of songs I’ve made from then till now.
Do you remember where you were at when you wrote your first ever song?
I was living at my pops house at the time. After getting a laptop and a yeti microphone, I set up a small studio in my bedroom. The first song I ever wrote was about me performing at a Karaoke night, but nobody in the bar likes rap music.
How would you describe your style?
A flow of honey mixed with the delivery of cream. An old school instrument based jazz tangle, with a foundation of conscious thought.
Tell us about the creative process for your new mixtape “Studio 7B”! Any interested features on your mixtape? Is this mixtape your debut?
This is the first project I’ve ever put out to the public. It’s a collaboration of all the songs I’ve made over the past few years. It’s basically an announcement of what I plan to do next. With the help of many different producers from around the world, Studio 7B is what I believe the perfect way to get into the game.
In 2017, who is on your own personal music rotation playlist!? Any new artists you are listening to?
2017 has been a wild year so far for the industry. I haven’t really given myself the time to listen to their music effectively. Im still playing Joey Bada$$ and J cole everyday.
Any new projects and videos you are working on? Planning on a tour anytime soon?
Well after dropping two music videos already, I’m planning on doing a third sometime close to the new year. No tours anytime soon, at least not for this mixtape, maybe the next one.
Out the box type question, If it came down to 1 ALBUM only, what underground Hip Hop album would you consider THE BEST OF ALL TIME!!!???……One 1 album you can choose.
I don’t know about an underground hip hop album. Pete Rocks underground soul classics album is one that stands above the rest.
Your definition of “Underground Hip Hop”
