Q&A With Up And Coming Hip Hop Artist Cam Kudo$a

Hey Cam Kudo$a! We appreciate solid underground music, especially form true up and coming Jackson, MS based MC like yourself.  Please tell me how long have you been rapping?  Where are you from?  Do you remember where you were at exactly when you wrote your first track!!??

First off I want to thank you guys man. But yea I’m born and raised in Jackson Ms can’t even say how long I been rapping, probably rapping since I was a lil dude in middle school. All I remember is coming to class not doing no work and just rapping that’s around the same time I wrote my first song .

Your style and rhyme scheme is super raw, smooth and really ORIGINAL?  How important is it for your to stay ORIGINAL?  I’m sure you hate it when fans say you sound like ???…LOL

These days it’s very important to stay original and be yourself those are the people who don’t get looked over . It’s so many people that’s just riding waves and shit like that originality is rare these days and usually fans don’t say I don’t sound like nobody

Tell us about your Hip Hop and/or music influences?  Any Jackson, MS influences? Was there anyone in your life that motivated your to STEP IT UP when it comes to making dope Hip Hop?

So many influences in my life man , from artist to everyday situations I’m in. Musically I’m influenced by Tory lanez , young thug , Travis Scott , and a couple of others .. been listening to those guys for a while now and growing up listen to early Wayne . And as far as everyday influence it’s just when I look around my city and see so much goin on and my parents working so hard and shit like that it just makes me want to really take this as far as I can so I can change the way things are for me and my family.

Please breakdown the creative process of your album “Startape” EP.

Ok , so STARTAPE is like an experiment I must say. STARTAPE was me experimenting with different styles and bringing them together just to show my range in a way artistically speaking. A lot of songs was recorded for STARTAPE but I wanted to keep it as a EP because to me it’s like the project isn’t done in a way like it’s just the beginning of something. But the songs on STARTAPE are all me. I had a couple features but I use those for something called STARDAYS where I dropped a song week to let people know that STARTAPE is on its way and left all the single songs that’s I like for STARTAPE. It was a lot of back and forth about features or no features but we got it together.

Rappers nowadays think by throwing up a few videos up on social media and pushing quick projects, they can blow up overnight! Give us your view on how over saturated the market is right now with so many MC’s/Producers but not to many quality music.

I feel like you can make your own destiny these days . You can put out what you want to put out when you want to put it out. But keeping up with all these new music and all of these new talent is a hard task. So I just feel like sometimes artist put out music in a fast pace just to stay relevant. But me I’m tryna work more so on the quality .. I’ll rather drop a project that last fans a while than drop something every 3 months that’ll be forgotten the next week. So that’s what I’m trying to perfect. But to eaches own.

Out the box type question,  If it came down to 1 ALBUM only, what underground Hip Hop album would you consider THE BEST OF ALL TIME!!!???……One 1 album you can choose.

Pretty hard question .. hmmmmm I want to consider this album underground but Travis Scott “Rodeo” yea that shit amazing.
