Rizzy Alberacci – Q&A Interview

Riz

Tell us a little about yourself. Where you are from? And How did you get your “RIZZY” MC name?

The names Rizzy Alberacci born a raised in Brooklyn New York but my roots lay in St.Lucia. Ive been rapping for 5 years now and i have been doing my thang! Getting some great feedback and support from all over. The name “Rizzy” goes way back, starting from high school my nickname was Ariz. From Ariz came Arizzy then i felt like the name Arizzy was a little too childish so i changed to Rizzy Alberacci. The Alberacci comes from two different italian names that i just put together because it had a great ring to it. “For the meaning, well ill leave that for the fans to figure out”

What influences you in making Hip Hop?

What influences me, Thats a great question. My fear of failure and being broke influences me, plain and simple. hip hop is an outlet for me, it allows me to express myself, have fun, and get paid doing it. I do it because i love what makes hip hop. the lyrics, the wordplay, the use of metaphors, the name flips, etc. i love the different styles and art behind every artist. its like looking at a canvas being drawn on by all the great artist and at the end the big picture shows our culture. its a reflection of soul, it shows who are and who we want to become.

Describe your music, and what separates you from other MCs?

i feel like my music is more flexible and diverse. i market myself as a conscious rapper but that doesn’t mean i can produce a great club banger. i don’t specialize in one sound of music i specialize in all. if the people demand conscious music i give it to them, they demand trap ill give it to them. the whole point is i am here to create music. i am an artist and just like any other job you have to do what you get paid for. when it comes to sound and what separates me from other artist i would have to say my life or some would say my story. I give the people another prospective on life. An “average teenager life” who doesn’t want to be an average teenager. So I take my listeners through what I experience, thats my way of relating.

Who have you collaborated with? Who would you like to collab with in the near future?

I have not done much collaborations due to the fact that i have been working on finding my own sound but i do want to give a Shoutout to my bro Ambition, Lynkz, Draii Rynell my main nigga Retta Slim and the whole FOOL Movement. these are the only 4 artist that i have collabed with simply because they saw something in me that i didn’t see in myself. in the future i would like to collab with Drake, Schoolboy Q, Kendrick Lamar, Pharrel and John Legend. right now my goal is to secure a collab with at least one of these artist.

Your definition of “Underground Hip Hop”?

Underground hip hop is defined to me as hunger and the drive. to me when artist are underground their music has way more substance then when they make it to the industry. industry rappers tend to lose that passion and drive for the art simply because they already made it and no longer have that drive as a pushing factor. Underground artist never fail to put their soul on a track. when music is all you have left after so much struggle its brings out that “do or die” nature in you but once they make it that feeling goes away.

Production wise, who are your influences? Who does your production?  And who would you like to work with?

Production wise i would have to say 40 (drakes producer) really influences me. Not only for his beats and engineering talents but the relationship he has with his artist. what people don’t understand is lyrics and a nice tone voice doesn’t make a song. it takes lyrics and a great production to put together a hit and as an artist if you build a relationship with your producer/engineer that only makes your music better. i haven’t found a producer that fits my style as yet but i would like to work with Dj premier.

Any current or future projects you are promoting?

93′ stay tune for that i’m trying to show the world something!!

Can you give us a brief description of the creative process of LEGO? Also tell us about your experience with Filming the Music video?? Good or Bad?

Lego is a piece i take a lot of pride in simply because i try to get as personal as possible on the track without going overboard and lego was a great start for me. i wanted to tell the fans where i was at moment in life. i felt like since i was taking so long to drop a tape and had to give them back hope. i had to show them that i didn’t forget them instead of was bettering myself to give them a great project. the experience recording it was fun because i did myself. learning the different camera angles and how to edit was really fun and i’m happy it came together pretty well
