Tell us a little about yourself. Where you are from? How long have you been making Hip Hop?
Im from The San Fernando Valley,CA,The city Pacoima to be exact. and I been solidified as an artist since I was 19yrs old.
What influences you in making Hip Hop?
My city and my experiences as a kid and as a man,nobody in my city has ever told our story worldwide and im on a mission to do so and establish a market and a culture for the 818 to be proud of.
Describe your music, and what separates you from other MCs?
I’m unorthodox and musically a melting pot, what seperates me is my blend of music and how I put together songs.Me and my producer Lord Rolex really strive for a signature of sounds that cannot be duplicated unless you heard it from us. As far as lyrics what seperates me from MCs,I cant be boxed in, I could compete on any production or with any MC.
Who have you collaborated with? Who would you like to collab with in the near future?
I havent collaborated with too many,accept my label mates and group members THE KROOK$ and upcoming Artist out of my city such as Heaven Marie,Qsyn Mahlon,and Ricky Anthony,and Aaron Req. I would like to collab with Dom Kennedy Pusha T, Travis Scott,Kid Cudi,The Weekend and many others,the list is could go on forever.
Your definition of “Underground Hip Hop”?
Definiton of Underground Hip-Hop is no barriers no rules, its pure, and raw.
Production wise, who are your influences? Who does your production? And who would you like to work with?
Kanye West,Pharrell,Rza,Just Blaze and Clams Casino are my influences. Lord Rolex handles all my production mixing mastering and editing. Me and Him have been working together for 3yrs, me and him have created a formula that will forever be the format for our city we call it movie music and the way we work just clicks, he doesnt believe in what sounds right he believes in what feels right and stretching the bar and not being scared to expirement to make dope music. and overall if i could work with Kanye West ill be more than greatful.
Any current or future projects you are promoting?
Right now im promoting my free album “THE RARITY”.
Can you give us a brief description of the creative process of The Rarity Album? Also/ what was the idea or concept description about your Album Art Cover.
It’s a 4 chapter story broken down into my 4 Demons i deal with. Its 16 tracks and its timeless, took 2yrs to really perfect and break music barriers I was once unsure of doing.It was frustrating at times to really control and grasp all my ideas,and for Rolex to make them come to life but we did it and it was everything i wanted.The concept of my album cover was inspired by Biggie smalls and he has a classic picture with his five fingers toward the camera and I believe in paying homage and keeping the legacy of Mcs going, so with that being said it was more of a dedication cover.
