Album Review: “Retrolution” By A. Armstrong

We posted this project a few days ago, and the feedback we’ve been getting pretty much solidifies Jacksonville, Florida has a new sound and it comes by the name A. Armstrong.  The new album “Retrolution” comes from a rising conscious lyricist who delivers a positive message in every song with poetic wordplay.  For those seeking meaningful music you can relate to, you came to the right place!  Songs like “People Make The World Go Round”,  portrays the passion and creative artistry A. Armstrong put into the whole project.  In “Beats To The Rhyme”, his flow and lyrical delivery shines on a underground rugged beat to make any hardcare Hip Hop haed an instant fan on his work.

There in also plenty of music in the album, it’s a 18 track project  described by the emcee as, “a majestic body of work composed of “retro” music from 70’s R&B classics and old school Hip-Hop, confronting important topics with poetical prowess and a cunning conviction”.  We are an outlet that respects true creativity and artists who express themselves to the fullest without trying to be something they are not.  That’s essential in being able to relate to music heads, which eventually become loyal fans.  We believe that being true to yourself is what A. Armstrong emphasizes in this project, and we need to credit that to his recent success.

Overall, “Retrolution” is an album that can be enjoyed by anybody.  It’s available for download on Soundcloud.  For those who don’t listen to Hip Hop, please take a listen to this project, you won’t regret it.  For the Hip Hop fans who listen to all the commercial stuff already and refuse to listen to real Hip Hop, you might change your attitude after listening to A. Armstrong’s stuff.  That is how a true underground head should be created!
