Big Mike YSE – “Under The Influence” (Album Review)
Big Mike YSE drops his new album “Under The Influence”. The album starts off with an acceleration of smooth lyrical energy, emitting deep thought with a track called “Positives”. The melodic golden era boom-bap tone sets the tone for the rest of the album as it implements the readiness of the new artist and completion of his new album. Also, this track gives you a glimpse of what there is to come with beats by the very talents producer Circa30Hz! His smooth and majestic production style perfectly fits what Big Mike YSE has in his arsenal with progressive lyrics & uplifting vibes.
The production on “A Narrow Path” is simply amazing, such a dope flip on piano samples that makes you feel numb! I can feel the radiant presence as Big Mike YSE’s smooth hook rides off the instrumental. His flow and story on this one really gravitates to the best of real Hip Hop enthusiasts! Lets make it clear that this project definitely falls into the category of Boom-Bap Hip Hop, but gives off a deep thought-provoking experience from front to back!
BEATS, RHYMES & SUBSTANCE is what’s expected in real underground Hip Hop projects! Big Mike YSE is as original as they get! His output sound really stands out, being able to instantly recognize his style and voice on tracks is extremely important for today’s over saturated Hip Hop market! Circa30Hz get as much credit as Big Mike YSE gets on this memorable album for realz!
“Broke N Hopeless” has my vote for being the dopest track on this album! It’s a track that grabbed me, fully understanding and oddly relating to the story! Crazy how everyday last week I had this track on REPEAT going to and coming back from work! Words can’t explain how dope and deep this track is!!!! “Under The Influence” is a must listen to, I can’t reiterate and please make sure to support Big Mike YSE by following him on Twitter & IG
