Camkudo$a – “Startape” EP (Album Review)
Camkudo$a is an emerging natural talent out of the Jackson, Mississippi. A breakout talent garnering a strong fanbase with his high energy and trendy style of music. After feeding fans for several months with appetizers, Camkudo$a delivers the main course with the release of his debut full body of work in the 7-track EP titled, ‘Startape’.
Poised to have a breakout debut, the first installment of Camkudo$a catalog begins with the new rising star looking to get the party started with several upbeat tracks. Sticking to the current cliche of trap familiarity that has been a huge success on chart-topping outlets. An easy on the listen body of work, Cam maintains a popular formula that has yet to get old and continues to excite no matter who the lines are from. “Feel” and “Championship”, ‘Startape’ comes with auto-heavy verses followed up with the timeless money, hoes, and clothes theme that is now a well-known go-to for a successful project.
The second half of the EP carries a good ride along vibe with his chanting hooks over heading nodding production. Flowing with the same get rich attitude that kept fans eager to hear more from the recording artist leading up to the release of the debut. In conclusion of the project, Camkudo$a tells a similar tale of overcoming adversity and proving to everyone he is ready to take the world by storm.

“Bad Habit” is Camkudo$a strongest track on the project with “Hate Too” following in close second. Camkudo$a builds the entire project on the backs of the naysayers and doubters as he mentions countlessly references to being known as a underachiever throughout the project. ‘Startape’ is promising beginning for the Mississippi-native.
Camkudo$a’s debut effort is an acquired taste for most, while exhibiting glimpses of high quality wordplay and delivery, it’s noticed throughout the project that Camkudo$a is still developing his signature sound. The production is solid; however, could be more tailor-made for his money over bitches lingo. While not much depth, Camkudo$a caters to existing fans on this with a catchy feel good vibe that was previously used to gasp his grass root supporters.
Overall, Camkudo$a is a promising act with a vast amount of potential to be the next breakout sensations in the following year with early signs of superstardom shown in sparks on this new EP. As we know the artist can keep the party going, however, what lies beyond the surface. He requires more depth in his content to avoid being just a one-trick pony. It is shown he has the ability to show he is versatile.
