Hope Is Music Returns With New Full-Length Project “DOJO” (Album Review)

Haven’t covered Pomona’s Hope Is Music in a good minute since his 2015 release “Sundy Blues“. 8 years later, Hope is back as a more potent song writer and emcee in his new album, DOJO. Produced by GhostHouseProductions, its dope to see Hope back in action paving his own lane in L.A. focusing on music for real underground heads.

With so many rappers making the same type of music these days, Hope is focused on quality instead of quantity on this one with 10 hard hitting bangers. Starting the project with “FAXX, KATANA, MONEY” you can appreciate his writing, storytelling, and beats on these as Hope gives the world a firm re-introduction after his hiatus.

When is comes down to features, he hand picked Anonymous, actor Richard Cabral, and Honor Flow Productions for “DOJO”. The track “KUBRICK” is def a standout with a Richard Cabral sample matching Hope’s flawless flow and energy over a hard hitting beat.

If you want to actually get inside the mind of Hope, I recommend you check out “GROUP” as he shares his story with a acapella over a smooth melody. And for all the Latino heads out there, make sure to add “SPANGLISH” to your playlist. Overall DOJO effors earns a 8/10 as Hope makes his return and hopefully we hear more new music in the near future.
