Mitch Darrell – “Black Skin Colorless Soul” (Album Review)
We love it when we come across debut albums from young rising hard working MC’s. Its tricky nowadays to make noise in this over-saturated Hip Hop game, especially with so many rappers being born daily! But let us tell you, rising Hip Hop artist Mitch Darrell is not your typical MC to say the least! His debut album “Black Skin Colorless Soul” pushes the boundaries on the topics of religion and race, catering to the current race-bating climate we are living in today! The Mainstream media is shoving it down the throats of all of us spreading nothing but fake news, but Mitch Darrell delivers us his direct perspective on whats really going on in today’s streets, and this album is clearly about unifying instead of dividing, 100% FACTS.
Personally, I’m a huge christian Hip Hop fan, with some of my biggest influences such as Odd Thomas, Tunnel Rats and my favorite, Propaganda. I cant quite call him a christian rapper yet, but from the sound of this album, Mitch Darrell might be leaning towards that direction! Yes, I can say for being his debut, his style and delivery and production value might not be as good as other more polished MC’s, but at at least the substance in his content is really profound, he raps are original from his gut, heart, body and soul. He stands behind what he believes in in on this album!
This 9 track album really has some tracks that will gravitate to all us true Hip hop heads. Lets mention “Woke” Ft. RaShad Eas, “Back To Homeland” and my personal favorite track “Flyin'”. These tracks are great, really embraces the Mitch Darrell brand to the fullest and allows new fans to appreciate his talent as a up and coming MC. Lets make sure we support hard working Hip Hop artists such as Mitch Darrell, his music is only the beginning, looking forward to see what this artist will be cooking up next for the year 2017!
