therapperbigchris is an upcoming artist from Pensacola, Florida. This year, he has been building up a name for himself with singles like “No Reason”. Last month he released his first EP “From Pensacola With Love” on all streaming services. With all the intangibles for success, will bigchris be able to captivate on his chance for fame?
With a laid back flow and comical lyricism, Therapperbigchris paves his own lane. Cuts like “Afro Americano” and “No Reason” are examples of this fun style shaping the entire message of a track. “Droptop” was a definite standout as Chris raps about some of the run-ins he has had with women in his city. “Heaven” lets listeners glimpse at this young MCs introspective side as he compares his feelings towards someone to the spiritual promise land. “Rewind” intrigued me as its abstract style contours the rest of the records established sound. Closing the project out, “Fly Away” is a positive feelgood anthem that continues to flesh out Therapperbigchris’s skillset. Overall, Chris’s satirical writing will draw listeners in, and his emotional depth will keep them watching.
Sonically, there is a solid soundtrack which accomplices therapperbigchris’s rhymes. “Afro Americano” and “This Is Not a Love Song” show off his Floridian roots while “Droptop” demonstrates his ability to create a hard-hitting banger. “No Reason” had one of my favorite instrumentals as its Caribbean inspired sound is mind soothing. “Heaven” feels super glamorous and expensive, with all of its tone changes and samples. The EPs outro, “Fly Away” contains an instrumental so angelic it’s hard not to smile through the whole thing. Overall the blend of versatility and quality makes “From Pensacola With Love” stick out from most projects.
In conclusion, “From Pensacola With Love” is a solid starting point for a prominent MC. Therapperbigchris has loads of potential as he is multi faceted in his delivery and subject matter.
