TyrGod – “PV7T” Prod. By PhAro (Mixtape Review)

Atlanta-based producer PhAro teams up with TyrGod for a trap fused Hip-hop Ep titled “PV7T“. ATL known for its high energy beats now implementing a new generation of laid-back tones along with high-intensity instrumentals. The Ep starts off with a song called “Numbers” featuring a flawless trap production by PhAro, the smooth baseline ties it all together. I felt like TyrGod could have gone black on this track but stayed in a comfortable pocket to create a decent song. “Lettuce Work” is moved by the Emcee’s confidence, I can feel the raw appeal in TyrGod’s approach, it reminds me of Cheif Keef in his early years.

This song highlights the Emcees punch line ability as he glides from bar to bar. PhAro has been impeccable with setting the tempo as the tape goes on. Halfway through the Ep I looked at the cover and the dark lowlight visual matches the murky sound of the “Pv7T” mixtape. The tape continues with “Money Makin” I fell in love with the production it reminded me of a Batman type vibe mixed with new era trap music. I had to listen to this track a couple of times to innerstand the artist’s lyrical scheme.

My favorite song on the tape is titled “Maker”. This track sounded like it was natural for the Emcee to record, no added pressure just having fun. I can see this song being a great video for TyrGod as a debut. As the project continues I realized I spoke to soon as PhAro produces another fresh production called “Stu” & TyrGod switches up the whole atmosphere. I like how the song begins but it eventually loses momentum halfway through, it feels as though this tape could have been amplified with a bit more passion and desire.
