Wiley Wonder – “Sub Vs. Pop” (Album Review)
We recently ran into a really impressive 21 track album titled “Sub vs. Pop (The Monkey See Monkey Do Story)” by a rising underground Hip Hop artist who goes by Wiley Wonder from Harrisonburg, Virginia. Its full of great boom-bap classic sound mixed with a fresh cutting edge experimental flavor with a tad of trap. This MC is extremely conscious, along with being original with his rhyme scheme and delivery! We have to say that we haven’t run into many MC’s out of Harrisonburg, Virginia market for a while, it’s really cool to expose artists from small markets!
“Tell Me Why You Came to Party” Ft. Caz Chill & Riel has to be my favorite track on this whole project!! Definitely a song that helps me get through my heavy workload day! Another track that stood out to me was “i Robot”, includes a super dope beat with a futuristic rhymes that just blew me away! Overall, this 21 track album is an underground Hip Hop classic for Virginia! The kids out there will for sure hold this up knowing that Wiley Wonder truly represents his city, city support is always the most important factor when it comes to really blowing up!
Real underground Hip Hop is what we love to promote and just goes to show that putting guys on like Wiley Wonder helps us spread the word on true relative unknowns in the game! Don’t forget to peep this entire project today, available on Bandcamp! You wont be disappointed!
