Blackway (Long Island, NY) – “Radiant Child” EP
Blackway, born in Brooklyn, grew up in Ghana and now living on Long Island. I’ve been recording Music for as long as I can remember, from the cheap little Mixcraft set up I had in my bedroom back in fifth grade to the fully laced up (run by Protools) Studio I lay most of my songs down at in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. I’m 22 years old, I’ve released two mixtapes and currently working on an Album I plan to sell on iTunes with a Team in Ghana called BBnZ. When people used to listen to my music, the artists I usually got compared to the most were Eminem, Big L, and more recently Kendrick Lamar. As flattering as that may have been I’d like to think that with my last Mixtape, Radiant Child, I developed my own sound and growing into more a versatile artist. During my last trip back to Ghana (exactly a year ago) I linked up with a few artists and producers and they helped give my most recent Mixtape the sound I was looking for. There are one or two songs with a commercial feel to it, but for the most part I made sure not to exclude from it the old school Hip-hop Essence that I grew up on.
