What is a “Renaissance Man ? “, One who has vast knowledge of operating in different facets of creativity. That immediately describes the characteristics of up-coming Atlanta rapper, Che RhenosonceBorn Momotee Doe in Brooklyn , New York to James and Elizabeth Doe . An african born couple who migrated from their homeland of Liberia, West Africa in the mid seventies to find a better, financial opportunity in America. They insisted education, hard work and upright morals to Che and his four brothers  James, T-Boye , Gnatee and Eneceo. Che excelled in all aspects of his personal life.

From being an outstanding player for the school’s baseball team, Che felt he was on the top of the world, but he had another hidden talent that he wanted to display to public; the art of hip-hop rhyme. “I’ve always been a huge fan of lyrical storytellers like Jay-Z, Eminem, Joe Budden. Those who spoke of the harsh upbringing in their lives and how they’ve outcome that obstacle and better themselves with their god-given talent”.

He tinkered with rhyming, showcasing his lyricism to his friends and even to his older brother, T-Boye whom was trying to break into the entertainment industry as a budding film director. “I knew my brother had some sort of talent, more or less I imagined he’d be a professional player for a major league baseball team. When he told he could rap, I didn’t believe him, then he spit (rhymed) a few verses he wrote and i was floored.” T-Boye told young Momotee to keep perfecting his craft and he’ll assists in any possible way to make sure his voice is heard.

After graduating high school, Che decided to pack up his belongings and move from the hustle and bustle of New York City to the slow paced , family oriented atmosphere of Atlanta, Georgia to partake schooling at a well popular black college. He also wanted to build his musical outpost under a unique pseudonym , Che Rhenosonce.  “I wanted my music to be like my personality distinguished, charismatic and rebellious. So I thought of the Cuban revolutionary Che Guevara for his never say die attitude in his pursuit of freedom for his people. I added renaissance and modified it to make it more urban related.”

Indeed Che’s lyrical dexterity is evident in the music he releases. His attacks a record with multi-syllabalistic word-play , couple with honest storytelling that gives the listeners an inside look on the narrator’s emotions that spill onto the bass line. Che hopes to have his music touch lives and captivate those that look to strive to create their own path(s) to greatness. Che definitely gives a whole new meaning, as what a true “renaissance man”  is about ……..
